My new name

Well I am now officially Kaitlin Clark Lanham!

Yeah, I know what you are thinking, "You have been for almost a month now." True but not legally. Like none of my documents said it other than the marriage license.

So..... Getting my new Social Security card with my new name on it and changing my name and address on my license is kinda a big deal. I am now known as Kaitlin Lanham and how amazing that is. Now I just have to go through BYU... great. I have heard that is annoying.

Getting married and taking the new name of Lanham makes me think back to my Freshman year of college when I was a Relief Society instructor for my ward. One of the lessons I taught was on the sacrament and something I remember talking about was renewing our baptismal covenants. One of those covenants being that we take the name of Jesus Christ upon us.

That has stuck with me through the past three years. I think about more readily on how my words and actions are a reflection on the name I have.

Sure me "saying" to a guy in a green BYU IT truck that doesn't stop, "Nice stop, (and then a name, something harmless like dummy)," may reflect on my name Kaitlin Lanham but how well does that reflect on my other name? ps... that may or may not have actually happened tonight as we were crossing the cross walk from Brick Oven. I was not happy.

What other name? The one I took upon me at the age of 8 on November 27, 1999. The name of Jesus Christ that I want to be worthy of.

I want to be a good example of my new name and the name I reflect back to on Sunday's during the sacrament. I should be reflecting more on it during the week (like when crossing cross walks) than I do but come on....

Nobody's Perfect.

I'm out.
Kaitlin Lanham

I don't think I will ever be tired of that.

Sharing Your Religion

I wrote this paper a while ago for one of my classes. I'm kinda proud of it and I wanted to share it. I wanted to share where my beliefs fit in with dance.

I saw this video while I was looking for something for FHE last week and it made me really motivated to share my testimony. This is how I want to start.

So here is a link to the paper I wrote. I believe every. single. word.

I am so thankful for my knowledge of this gospel. I know that the words I used from the men called of God are his words.

.... In Dinosaur

I was looking on Pintrest the other day and saw this beaut of an image. I took a picture of it on my phone and sent it to Tiffany and Deanna, my freshman roommates. It was quite perfect with our background love of dinos.

I apparently have a new name too! I am no longer Clarkceratops. I am now the Lanhasaurus Rex. Chad and I are Lanhasauri Reges (plural form). Credit for the names goes completely to Deanna. Can't wait to see those two girls again.

Until then,
Rawr

Married Life

So the wedding has come and gone, and Chad and I have now been married for two weeks (well tomorrow that is, but close enough)! I get people asking me all the time how married life is so here is a little update on how great it is.

Chad had had to go into work at six every morning since the 13th. He gets off at 4:30pm so he gets pretty tired when he gets home. He usually takes a nap when he gets home for just a while to rejuvenate. Chad works for BYU's moving department on one of the crews. His crew is responsible for moving new furniture to various places on campus and with four new Heritage buildings done, it is his crews responsibility to get them furnished. They have had all the furniture for quite sometime. My work got in the beds over a year ago due to the company going bankrupt. So we have had to hold some overflow for the moving crew that they can't really fit in their own huge warehouse. Needless to say they will be doing that all summer.

Along with doing the new Heritage buildings on campus, Chad and his work crew are also going to be helping with the new MTC. MTC West. They are going to be two different MTC's. They will have not affiliation with one another. It will be the Provo MTC and the Provo MTC west... or something like that. The new MTC is the old Raintree apartments. Last I heard they were also taking over part of Wyview for the Sister missionaries but I am not 100% sure on that information so don't quote me on that.

Chad has been very busy with work but something that he hasn't failed to do is wake me up and let me know he is heading out. We then have been able to have prayer together in the morning before he leaves for work. I really have loved doing that. It is very nice to pray together. When I get up he usually has left a note for me that say something a long the lines of...

I write one back to him because he will see it rather when he gets off for lunch and goes home or when he gets off at the end of the day and is home 30 minutes before I am. This has made my love grow so much more.

I am finding so much free time on my hands. With work from 8-5 every day and it being slow in the afternoon I am looking on pintrest more and more... I haven't been pinning a lot mind you (which is probably a good thing... great thing...) but I sure have been looking a lot more. Pinning will happen tonight probably... Yeah...

Our little apartment is now a home. We are settled in and I will have to take pictures and upload them on to my computer and post them here so you can all see but I think I will wait until I get pictures from Amanda Castleberry (my wedding photographer) and do the wedding/reception post and bombardment of photos first.

Keep an eye out for that in the next while! I should be getting photos soon!
